Round Table Discussion

The Federation of Telangana and AndhraPradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry-FTAPCCI in association with Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC) has organized a Round Table Discussion with the visiting delegation of City of Atlanta, Georgia, USA on 11th October, 2017 (Wednesday) between 10:30 a.m. and 12.15 p.m. at J.S. Round Table Discussion

The delegation is looking at strengthening multifaceted ties, including trade, investments, tourism, logistics and air services between the city of Atlanta and India.

Brief about Atlanta:
Metro Atlanta has emerged as the main business hub for the Southeast US. It is now amongst the fastest growing metros in the US and has the 10th largest economy ($335 billion) in the US as measured by Gross Metro Product. Metro Atlanta is host to 28 Fortune 500 companies such as Coca-Cola, UPS, Home Depot, CNN, NCR, Delta, First Data Corp, Equifax Inc. etc. It has emerged as the world leader in financial technology related global payment and financial services industries. It is also emerging as the manufacturing hub in the US especially in automotive parts, aerospace, defence, film & TV production, agro-processing, healthcare etc. It is now the second largest base of movie/TV production after Hollywood. We have around 450,000 persons of Indian origin living in the region.

Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport is the World’s busiest airport in terms of passengers handled with over 105-110 million passengers traveling through it last year. The Airport is the foremost economic driver not just for the Metro Atlanta area but for the entire Southeast United States region. It looms large in every economic activity of the city and state generating almost 500,000 jobs and contributing more than $60 billion in annual revenues. It is the primary hub for Delta Airlines. The City of Atlantawields tremendous clout as an economic entity in this region, with the Airport as its primary economic driver.

Talk on Current State of Economic Affairs by Dr Sanjaya Baru, Secretary General, FICCI


We are pleased to inform you that Dr. Sanjaya Baru, Secretary General, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) has consented to address the members on Current State of Economic Affairs on 9th October-2017 at 4.30 p.m. at FTAPCCI Auditorium, Federation House, Hyderabad.

Dr. Sanjaya Baru took over as Secretary General of FICCI from 1st September 2017. He has been editor of India's major financial newspapers, The Economic Times, Financial Express and Business Standard. He was the professor of economics at University of HyderabadICRIER-Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (Delhi) and Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy(Singapore). Dr. Baru has been Media Advisor to Prime Minister of IndiaDr. Manmohan Singh (2004-08) and Director for Geo-economics and Strategy, The International Institute for Strategic Studies, London (2011-16). He was Member, National Security Advisor (India) Board of India (1999-2001), India-ASEAN Eminent Persons Group (2010) and the Indian National Defence University Committee (2002-2004). Dr. Sanjaya Baru will also be Secretary General of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), India Chapter; Secretary General, FICCI Confederation of Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises,Government of India(MSMEs) (CMSME); and Director General, Indian Council of Arbitration.
